GBA Modding

Ok, first and formost i am not talking about, or thinking about chopping up any rare or limited gba's
Would it be possible to fit a frontlit or better still a backlit gba sp screen into a original non-backlit gba? I know about the afterburner and mash mods frontlit kits, but thought maybe this way might be neater? If it is possible, would the, (is it two?), AA batteries the original gba uses provide enough power for back or frontlit screens?
Secondly, are the screens/shells interchangable between frontlit and backlit gba sp's?

Hmmmm... To be honest with you, the best place for a question like this is over at the benheck forums! Were gamers, ask the uber tech gurus who dismantle the consoles to build hybrid and portables!
