Virtual Striker on the DC used the clock for day and night matches , I think the Arcade version did too. It's a small one , but you also got a New years greetings in Enemy Zero

Re the Pokemon games, I can't recall exactly what but I know there's something that only happens on one of the developer's birthday.

That was an awful feature. It was too dark to see anything which made the stages harder.

Agree, stupid MSR. A game that forces you to change the clock just to drive through London during daylight hours. great game other than that though.

The dreamcast had loads of this stuff. Didn't Sonic Adventure have loads of decorations around the world hub on Christmas Day?

Are you sure this was because of the clock settings? I thought it was an online only thing, ie sonicteam updated the servers when the events happened. If it still happens while offline, I am impressed.

I'm pretty sure it was based on the clock. I seem to remember having one of them appear when I changed the clock and being a bit dissappointed that it was so easily done. There was a one off sonic thing that happened on the 20th anniversary or whatever. Sadly I missed it, but I believe Sonic and/or Tails appeared in those reception desks instead of the usual tarts.

Art of Fighting 3 on MVS mode only (homecart system has no real time clock or backup battery) gave fighters a full super bar on their birthday, all day. it was their actual birthday but in the real world date . ooer.
