Evening my fellow family forum brothers and sisters.

Just abit of advise really, I've just been offered first refusal on a retro dreamcast collection and a not so retro just yet xbox original collection.

Dc comprises of 114 pal as new games,steering wheel,stick,8 vmus,4 rumble packs all boxed as new and as most of you know me by now when i say as new I mean as new, none with broken hinges cds scratch free just as they come off the production line . He's asked me for an offer on the lot but I don't want to offer a silly amount so he looks at me like this ! Any ideas ? I did have a dc when they first came out and I did enjoy it lots.

Xbox collection 134 games in just as new condtion too. I'll try and get some of the games on here to give you some idea ......

^hm, don't know about the DC collection. If it's all PAL stuff as you say it is, well, there's not really many titles truly worth playing, and there's something about dullish DC games that really puts you off playing them. I love the Dreamcast but 85% of my PAL games have been gathering dust on a shelf since 2002, and furry dust at that.

XBox is different. Again, there's that boredom problem, but this time more due to the 'brown' nature of much of its games (primarily war sims and racers). Without wishing to cause a furore, there's many more XB games that are actually worth playing than there are on DC. But there is also a veritable gumbo of quality team-based strategy games that are pretty much all decent, worth playing, but you get sick of the time and commitment you actually need to spend in order to actually enjoy them, and the multitudinous hours needed to take in all their boring, brown cutscenes. To cease rambling, in short there are very few 'instant games' on XB (like SF2, HOtD, OutRun 2 etc.) Post a list of what's on offer, so we can all get a chance to discuss if you're likely to waste your dosh or not.

Depends on the price. About a third of that list is good, and about half are at least worth a blast.

Well, I did play a lot of them when DC was my main console. You are better off getting into the current gen for better examples of almost all those games!

I underlined the ones I personally have enjoyed playing for longer than an hour. But, HOtD2 with a gun, now that's gooooood. I love it with the D-pad, it's probably my fave and most-played DC game, pretty much.

Regardless of if XX amount of games are crap, the main thing that needs to be considered here is what brings you happiness. If the lot of games will make you smile and youll enjoy them, then go for it!

Personally I wouldnt touch to the Xbox stuff, but the DC stuff seems good, its not your average commons, quite alot of uncommons there.

That DC list looks pretty good to me! Not many stinkers and some real gems in there. I'd tell him rather politely where he can put his Xbox collection though...

Add 16, 25, 27, 29, 40, 41, 50 (with SHCTHack), 51, 52 (best party game ever), 53, 64, 76, 77, 84, 89, 92 and 112 to JazzFunk's list of 'games worth playing for more than an hour'. Perhaps it'd be easier to just list the games that are toilet?
