One of my best friends payed ?90 for Final Fight 2. Another payed ?95 for Wild Trax( Stunt Race FX ) ... They weren't happy when I laughed at them - and also.. said the games were pretty "Meh"

The fact that they payed for them out of savings and birthday/xmas cash, just made it even more gutting.

That has to be the worst deal ever. I feel your pain, but.. I still have to snigger at the madness of it.

I bought Ringside Angel from my local indie. That was pretty obscure at the time or maybe not? I was into WWF at the time and girls.

We used to get the train up from Liverpool to visit a little shop above a book store in Preston, imaginatively called Preston Games.

Used to be about from £3-£10 depending on what you were trading. Saw a bloke swap about 5 MD games, a GB and a couple of games for a Neo Geo game...!

Always remember the train ride home, reading Japanese manuals and looking at what games everyone got. They were the days!

My mate bought that, didn't it have acover that looked different when you moved it in the light?
I remember when he got it and he only had one pad so we couldn't even play against one another. It got traded it shortly after. Probaly for Hellfire.

I remember that there was an MD game that had a cover like the one you describe. I can't think of the name?

I Googled the box for Ringside Angel.

I'd have probably wanted that as a kid. That babe would have to have bigger chesticles to tempt me these days.

Indeed it did, my mate 'Artley traded something for that in the aforementioned Preston Games.

Was it a different case than the one above? ... A hologram image?

No, it was the same style MD box, but it wasn't quite a hologram, it was one of those pieces of plastic with the grooves in that you tilt and see two different images in... I think!

I think the plastic was just stuck over the paper sleeve and in the MD sleeve. I can't remember exactly.

Ringside Angel did have the hologram effect type cover, I remember Mean Machines loved the game, I think. Never tempted me though.

The special cover was a Lenticular postcard slipped into the Sleeve over the paper insert. Underneath was the normal cover.

Once upon a time, I sold Decapattack, Golden Axe, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Quackshot and Twin Hawk in order to get... Jungle Strike. Which is an OK game in itself, but still - not the best deal imaginable.

At least it taught me something. I haven't sold or traded a game since, more or less.

I remember there was a kid at school who was really into imported games and claimed to be able to get you anything you wanted. I never quite believed him until he turned up at school with a copy of Virtua Racing ages before it came out in the UK. He wanted £100 for it though.
