Does anyone know how many Starwing Comp carts would have been made?
I was lead to believe it was around the 2000 mark according to what I've read.

Given it was all over Europe, 2000-3000 probably seems about right. There were five stores within 10 miles of me taking part in the competition back then, so I had a fair few to try out on.
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Also if it truly was a competition similar to the Starwing one, surely there would be around the same number of carts surfacing plus it would have been documented.

Dont get me wrong though, id love to be proved wrong
Was definitely the UK one - I got through to the finals (which netted me 4 free tickets to Thorpe Park for the day + food/drink inc + huge goodie bag), meeting Bruno Brooks and Violet Berlin in the process

Only question I have in my mind is whether or not there was a special cart or not, and I'm afraid I honestly cannot remember. I have photos of the finals day but as I said no sign of DKC at that point

My finds for the last week or so

Pleased to have finally got all of the Simpsons games on the SNES, Shame that Krusty's fun house is the only one that's any good

Also chuffed with the Brand new sealed Tin Tin Prisoners Of The Sun as it's hard enough to get a cart only of this game in English!
Side Pocket is also hard to get as it rarely comes up for sale.

I had never played Winter Gold before but was pleasantly surprised, It's an FX chip game and I can see that back in the day this would have been as impressive as Starwing and Stunt Race FX.

Krusty's is pretty good fun. I remember really liking the look of Bart's Nightmare back in the day, but when I finally got a play of it, it was a bit hit and miss if I remember properly.

What is the Virtual Bart and Itchy and Scratchy games like?

Still can't beat the Simpsons arcade game!

I've only played the Virtual Bart and Itchy and Scratchy games for a few minutes while testing them (couldn't take any longer!) so I can't give you alot of info.
The Virtual Bart game seems to be a mixture of mini games and some platforming levels.
Itchy and Scratchy seems to be a poor side on Platformer in which you go though levels collection things and hitting enemies with weapons such as a big mallet or throwing knives.

Barts Nightmare is not to bad a game, Better than these 2 anyhow!

I would agree that the Arcade Simpsons was indeed the best, A really fun scrolling fighter Shame it never got a 16bit console release

I'd love to see some photos of your minty games mate, Can you put some on this forum or even email me some?
As soon as I've finished building this blimming flat packed furniture buddy, decided to actually put everything in one room and not everywhere in the house. So now my spare room is going to look more like a classic gaming room

ps why do I always have bits left when I've finished one bookcase ?! opps i guess !

Protective cases like these vga ones on the bay .....

Very nice to store your rare games in but blimming expensive, fancy going halfs on 25

I use quite a few of snesbits cases mainly on my n64 stuff though, stops me dusting them

Anyway back to trying to fit a into z into a round hole lol

                  Woah!? Seriously?
That is one hefty price to protect your games. Hardcore...

Id rather get a minty Earthbound for that price

And me It's not just PAL SNES games I collect, I also have around 50 US and 50 Jap games, Earthbound is one of my most prized games

I think those display cases are going a bit too far!!!

I look forward to seeing your collection pics once you have assembled your storage funiture mate.
I have been waiting nearly a month now (Bloody Argos) for a big storage cupboard which I estimate will hold 500 Boxed SNES games, Albeit double stacked so half will be hidden but those will be the crapper games! lol

It's even got a lock! Personally I prefer storage with doors as it prevents the games getting dusty or faded by light.

At the moment I have boxes of SNES games lying around everywhere

Yeah, I have that problem right now, I can't be assed organising all my stuff, because I have limited space

I had my open mail sitting on top of my Vampires Kiss right now which is next to my computer :P

Hehe! I couldn't do that, Vampire's Kiss should be treated much better. ^_^

This past week's excellent haul of PAL SNES games -

That's 3 of the PAL Dragon Ball Z games down now and only 1 to go
I'm very pleased to have finally got hold of Terranigma, Biker Mice & Skyblazer which I've been after for ages! Not to mention the World Heroes which is tough to get.
I was also surprised by what a decent little platformer Prehistorik Man is

                            ------

Also thought i'd show off my minty Earthbound Let's see your minty copy nintastic!
