    Specific Collections

I've seen people that collect for systems, regions etc etc and that all seemed like too much hard work and effort to buy that much stuff and then find space for it. However, I do like the idea of people who look to collect for a particular game or franchise; I've seen a great Mega Man collection recently for instance.
So I thought to myself I'd quite like to collect but I think it's going to have to be for a game or series I really like and I'd get a lot of satisfaction from, so I've decided to go for a Street Fighter III collection as from the beginning of this year.

I also think the difference between a normal game collection and what I want is that I'm going for pretty much anything related or about SFIII, so books and tournament DVDs for example and hopefully art too. Plastic tat is also a given.

I've a limited budget so it'll be slow going and there's a lot of really obtainable stuff I'm glaringly missing, but since January when I made a realistic New Years Resolution for this collection I've managed to get a lot of good stuff I thought would take years!

So on to what I've been able to collect so far:

    Games:

Street Fighter III: W Impact [DC] [NTSC-J]
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike [DC] [NTSC-J] Pic
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike [PS2] [NTSC-J] Pic
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Limited Edition [PS2] [NTSC-J] Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3
    Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike *re-release* [PS2] [NTSC-J]
Capcom vs SNK 2 Millionaire Fighting 2001 & Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Value Pack [PS2] [NTSC-J] Pic
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection [XBX] [PAL-UK]

    DVDs & Videos

    Tougeki 2003 - Super Battle Opera 1 Vol.1, Vol.2, Vol.3

Tougeki 2006 - Super Battle Opera 4 Vol.4: 3rd Strike & Hokuto No Ken [DVD] Pic

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've also bought a slim line JPN PS2 so I can play the best port of this game. I'm still looking for Tournament DVDs and pretty much anything related to SFIII or 3rd Strike as well as the usual ports, arcade boards and all the different regional releases!

    Wanted:

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - Format: [DC] Region: [UK][US]
Street Fighter III: W Impact - Format: [DC] Region: [UK][US]
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection Format: [XBX] Region: [US][JPN]
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection Format: [PS2] Region: [US]

    Books

All About Series Vol. 19 - Street Fighter III: New Generation 'The Fighting Bible'

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Koshiki Guide Book

    Misc

    SFIII Clock
Set of 10 SFIII:NG telephone cards
    T-Shirts
    Yun's Hat
    Posters for all titles.
    Any toys/models of the characters.
    Arcade boards, all regions.

I'm really enjoying myself and it's nice to pour over the books and take in all the art-work and design sketches and see how they stand up compared to what we actually got on screen. There's some interesting move sketches as well that never made it, like Remy having a insta-shift behind the opponent move to capitalise against fireballs!! I'd have let that one in :P

Anyone else have a title/franchise specific collection?

I've sold a complete set of DC-UK magazines recently and decided to scan in the SFIII articles for future posterity!

I've scanned in a few old articles from other magazines too if anyone curious to press reaction to SFIII over the years. I'm going to see if I can find some US articles too and pop them up too.

I did have a near complete Castlevania collection. Over 20 Games, all complete including some Japanese versions.

Sold them though. Completed them all. I didn't bother with the home computer versions of Castlevania. Amiga e.t.c

Never got Vampire hunter on the MSX or Haunted Castle PCB. I don't enjoy Haunted castle having played it, its stupidly hard, I enjoy a challange but that game is sadistic!

I did have King of fighters 94 to 2002 on AES. NTSC-J. (didn't get 2003)

You're missing the awesome four page retro gamer article by Private Ryan (not that you should be putting scans of it up )

I had a complete collection of Ultimate Play the Game games from the Spectrum. All the classic releases were in the large cardboard boxes and it included Bubbler, Martianoids and Cyberun.

Sold it for a pretty penny though a few years ago.

I have quite a few Gradius/Parodius games, but i wouldn't go as far as calling it a collection as i've passed up the oppurtunity to buy things, but i may continue it at some point.

Can I just ask, how much can I expect to pay for this and could someone with a better knowledge of Arcade boards tell me as far as SFIII is concerned, which board this is specifically and for a collector of SFIII, what other boards are available?

It seems to be New Generation but has the 2nd Impact Giant: Attack CD in there too. I know there's a Ver.A and a Ver.B for 3rd Strike though.

                          Cheers

Nice. You should go deeper getting titles such as World Soccer Perfect Eleven on SFC.
