The PC Engine Bible (French book)

Finally ordered a copy of 'La Bible PC-engine' yesterday, saw it mentioned in the big Develepment Sapphire thread on the PCEngineFX forum and reminded me I still needed to get a copy, thought to order it quickly just in case it sells out, I can't comment on its content or quality as its not arrived yet but warning anyone thinking of getting a copy its all in French, there isn't an english copy in print but there's talk of a possible english translated PDF.

Just had a quick look and from what little french I can remember am I correct in assuming that the book features ONLY the huCards releases???

Hardly an essential purchase at over ?13.00 +P&P Considering you have to fork over more cash for forthcoming volumes. nah, pass on this one.

I can dig out the games and look at them for real myself.

I payed ?17.30 for it including shipping and yeh its Vol.1 which is only the Hu-Cards

yeh got it, its a very good book with tons and tons info, only downside is I can't read much French, still it has a little 0-5 rating for each game which is cool.
Would be the greatest book ever if they made an english translation.

the book is 195 pages long, it has a reveiw and rating of every Hu-card ever released and the 14 turbografx turbochip exclusive titles not released in japan.
Amongst other trivia it also has lots of info and pics on all the Campaign/Special Hu-Cards and the unreleased stuff.

the place I got it is the same company that actually printed the book so I would of thought its the cheapest place to get it.

My conclusion is its a great, great book but unless you can read French I would only recommend it to diehard PC-Engine fans (which I am), as alot of the information you could just read on the internet.

btw I'm not sure whether you already know this but there were a total of 397 Hu-cards including the Campaign/Special titles but not the unreleased titles.

also forgot to say it actually gives two 0-5 ratings for each game one for if you can read japanese the other for if you can't, which is quite usefull for gauging if a Japanese game is playable or not but as said above this information is also easily available on the net.

Out of interest..what did they give to Son Son II?

I beat it yesterday and completed it with one man today.
Its one of the best games I have ever played. Definitely the best in the last few years too.

How dare they!!!!!!! Its 5 out 5!!! hehe. I found the Son Son II shrine on the net...I said a little prayer to it. The game is Godly, the level design is amazing and the Music is on another level. Stage 7 makes me go giddy..I almost lose myself in the music before realising...stage 7 is bloody hard!!

I'm keeping mine but as said before most of the info is available on the net and in english.

There's also the PC-Engine Guide by Richard Gibbs, its a black and white Fanzine thats all in english, I've been looking for a copy as I accidentally binned mine when clearing all my crap from my mums attic, anyways I may be on to finally getting hold of some copies of it, if you're interested I'll give you a shout if I manage to, should be £3, unless I'm charged a mark up for some reason
