after reading in Retro Gamer that Pilot Wings has just been released on the Virtual Console, it spurred me on to go and dig out and boot up my SFC copy,
what a class game it is, I still love it!! IMO the graphics still look great today,

been getting back into the SFC lately this time with playing it with my (toddler aged) Kids and they love it, in particular Mario All Stars and Castlevaina IV or Castle-baby-ya as they call it, its funny the part they really like is the whole process of putting the cartridge in the console and when changing the game pushing the eject button and cart pops up, lol.

Yep.. Pilot Wings still looks and plays like a dream today. Even the music, despite being simple jazzy elevator style, is really nice and suits the game.

I'd say the game really shows what the Mode chip could do in the right hands. The visuals look great for sprite scaling - and it's amazing how the gameplay isn't hindered by the game not being true 3D. The designers really put a lot of care and thought into the design to make sure everything works well.

I used to play it a lot with friends - trying to better each others ratings. Definitely a classic that doesn't get enough recognition.

Another title that proves that the best SNES games still deliver great experiences.

Just been playing Contra 3, Demon's Crest and Dracula X via emu. If anything, Contra 3 just gets better with age, and the music is incredibly spirited (that Mode 7 Level 2 music, I used to listen to it incessantly back in the day). I think it poos on Contra 4 from a very great height.

Well I love the SNES and due to emulation it will always using my gaming time.
I echo Leons comments also about Pilotwings.

Anyway today I accidently stumbled across Rendering Ranger so I did my first ever rom hunt and had it on my PSP in seconds!! Love it!! Really tidy shooter, nothing outstandingly new just great fun and superb graphics.

I'm thinking of picking up Clock Tower but I want to know whether it's playable and/or enjoyable without knowing Japanese? I can read katakana and some simple hiragana words like hai/iie but that's about it.

I have a very stupid question but I know someone will be able to help...

I am enjoying my first playthrough of Super Castlevania IV at the moment. BUT how on Earth do I find out what my password is? I got half way through level 3 (without dying) and was too tired to carry on. No save system as far as I am aware.

                  Can anyone help?

I think you have to quit or die to get the password... it's been a while since I played it.
