Heroes. I feel like I could write ten paragraphs of nonsense.

I'll say this, I'd swap this generation for early days of speccy, commodore, amiga, nes, gb, sms, through to the 16 bit for anything these days. (and everythng I've missed, seems a bit pointless naming everything)

I used to eagerly await new issues of Mean Machines and C&VG and I remember early reports of the PC Engine, Megadrive and SNES. Gaming wise those are my most treasured memories.

I bought the magazines you mentioned, I know quite a few people here did too...reading about games and looking at screenshots at the time gave me more of a buzz that what I am getting out of modern gaming as we know it.

The more hate the Wii gets....I don't know..its the only console I really miss out of the current 3, has fun software...don't get me wrong, it is a bit of a sell-out console.

Business is Business and all that...

Rich Leadbetter writes for Eurogamer these days, primarily on the Digital Foundry section as a part of his larger Digital Foundry HD video capture/encoding business, but he produces other articles also.
