Never ever owned anything (will maybe Wii VC..) that plays Japanese Nes games..

I know of Kid dracula and Splatterhouse..

Any other Japanese exclusives make it worth buying a Famicom?

No worries. Might be better getting a Famicom though. NESes play in 50hz and you wont be getting the true experience.

Plus you can always try hunt down the opposite to the adapter above to play PAL/US games on a Famicom. Often bundled with those portable Famiclones.

I'd recommend Kyattou Ninden Teyandee. Top little platformer. Also Venus Senki, a strategy game based on the anime.

If you mean a NES to Famicom adapter, then yes, it'll let you play US and PAL games on a famicom.

If you're getting a famicom, be sure to get an AV famicom or a AV modded original so that you're not just stuck with RF.

The kunio series is fantastic
Try and get the ice hockey title (Ike ike Nekketsu Hokke Bu) or have a go at getting the Famicom Disk System for those extra sound channels
