Get Klonoa. It's a great wee platform game that'll play on any WS and obviously there's no language barrier.

Edit: Just realised that my avatar makes me look biased. No, really- get it!

A few years back they had WonderSwan Crystals + 2 games for 1480yen at Tokiwa Musen. I've never actually played it for more than a few minutes. Anything that works on a single AA battery can't be bad. Only game I was ever interested in was SRW something but the price was never one I wanted to pay.

If you enjoy old-school golf games be sure to pick up Namco Wonder Classic.
It's one of my favourite golf games ever. Very simple to pick up and play, yet has lots of depth that you'd expect from a modern golf game without turning it into a sim.

              Absolutely love it.

I am sure the Beatmania game will be very close to your interests - it's not a great version of the game but having a turntable peripheral is

Yes, the swan crystal will play all of the b&w and colour games.

I've got a nice bit load of swanny stuff incoming soonish (if it's ever posted). Lots will be going for cheaps.
I'll be king of the retro thread when the main bit arrives.

A statement like that needs to be quoted for future reference, can't wait to see what it is!

The screen on the Swan Crystal is loads better than the horrible smeary one on the WS Color, so it's worth getting that if you can (it's a reflective screen like the original GBA and the NeoGeo Pocket Color, though, so needs a bit of light).

On top of the games already mentioned, Beatmania is pretty good on WS, as is Gunpey (much better than the awful DS version). The Tetris port isn't bad either. I've not played them but Ghouls and Ghosts and the Mega Man game are meant to be pretty decent, too.

Ill second this. But just make sure its on a WS Crystal. The blur on the B/W & Color WSs makes it a little difficult to play.

System: Wonderswan Crystal, definitely. There are modders out there too who'll fit a backlight to the screen - although this doesn't work all that well IMO (I've had one and in the end switched to playing the WS under a lamp instead).

Games: Klonoa, Judgement Silversword, Tetris and Gunpey are all excellent, as mentioned. There are some other great puzzlers, too: Seeding Bird (which has a lovely manual), Mr Driller, XI Sai Little, Magical Drop, Mingle Magnet, Sennou Millenium and Slither Link are worth a look too.

I've never regretted buying mine, and have played it on and off for about three years now. Paid £60 for my Judgement Silversword, though. :-(

Oh, yes, this is really good. Sort of Tetris meets Pipemania. Only better than that sounds
