    Wondermega

Hey I'm pretty new to the site, just signed up! I'm looking to get into collecting a jap mega drive/mega cd collection and would like to get a wondermega! Does anyone on here know where I can get a mint possibly boxed one from thats in the UK?

    Thanks

Hi, cool idea going for a Japanese MD / Mega CD collection! I'm currently going for a full Mega Drive collection (Japanese) myself- 107 down so far

You'll need extreme luck to find a Sega Wondermega, especially boxed in nice condition. Its on my hitlist as well and all I ever see are the Victor (JVC) versions which seem to fetch around ?200+ boxed- they're much more common.

Searching on Ebay since March I've never seen a Sega one yet, still theyre out there somewhere- just plenty of time and patience required (oh and a fair few quid!).

One of the best looking consoles ever made though for sure.

why dont you get a laseractive? - that way you can pay megadrive/mega cd and some rather tasty mega LD games.

Rising Stuff have one for sale- $395. They'd probably do you a deal though if you were interested.

I'd still hold out for a Sega Wondermega though, might take a while but very cool system.

Yakumo had a spare Sega Wondermega a while back for about £150 posted to the UK.

I think he sold it though.

Great choice on interest, if I ever sold off my entire gaming collection... the one thing Id have to keep is my Wondermega. Paid about £180 for the Sega model a few years back, console and box interiors are mint, outer box is a little rough but in fairly good nick.

Good luck in finding one, still the best design for a released console to date as a matter of personal opinion

Yep, that was not mint though. If I was selling a mint one it would be a lot more That Wondermega now has a new owner.

That's the version with the PC Engine Add-On mate (bottom left), you could have that or the MD Add-On to my knowledge.

Also which one is rarer out of the two wondermegas?? Is it the Victor or the Sega version? This site says the Victor one is more rarer.......... I thought the Sega one was harder to find!

you can remove and interchange the 'paks' to play either MD or PC engine games

The Sega version is FAR more rarer- trust me! I've see boxed Victor models as recent as last week but havent seen a Sega one in 9 months.

i have seen a fair few sega branded wondermegas in my time too, on ebay (but very rarely boxed)

I recently sold a pretty mint victor wondermega (unboxed) to a fellow forumite for £150

If you like collecting the cardboard, then expect to pay alot more...

I do remember a nearly new/ mint, fully boxed victor wondermega sold on this very forum for £60.....so bargins are to be had!!

Not sure what the seller was smoking though......
