    Help with my new Supergun

Ahoy. I have picked up a supergun which was possibly built by somebody from rllmuk though the fogs of time have clouded exactly who this was. Anyway I like the idea of playing a few PCB's and eventually upgrading to a cab so thought I would give this a go. Pics below. Still waiting for a couple of PCB's to turn up to test it but in the mean time wanted to pick your brains.

Just a few questions to any SG experts in da house...

    1. On the front pic. You see the stick connectors. Would a standard Neo Geo AES stick work with this? It fits but not been able to test.

2.. On the side pic you can see there is a scart output which presumably goes to the TV but do you know what that other cable I am holding is? It's wired directly into the inside of the box.

3.. On the Harness pic. Obviously I recognise the Jamma Harness and I assume that other one is a kick harness. Labels inside seem to suggest so. However I understand that different games use different pin outs on the kick harness. Is that correct? If so is there a way to tell what its set up for and how would I change it?

    4. Innards - It looked quite messy but I assumed this was quite normal or is this a particularly messy one? Does it really matter?

Not knowing anything about how best to put these things together is this a good safe looking example? It has a nice looking fan to keep things call which I assume was a good thing.

    That's a CPS-II kick harness.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Is it? Ace. So that presumably means that I can play any CPS-II games such as the ones listed here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CP_System_II

      And is that changeable?

You can get an adapter to tun it into another harness, but to change it requires de-soldering.

Okay thanks. I will check around for adapters. Thanks for the ID of the harness. Thats most helpful. I just looked at the CPS-II page and that suicide battery business sounds a bit nasty.

Still open for all other contributions.

That supergun is a bit of a mess inside!

What other games using a kick harness did you want to play? stuff with a namco harness maybe for soul edge/tekken and suchlike?

Best thing you can do to check if it works with neo homecart sticks is simply test it. you could always rearrange the pinout on the ports too so they do work with it.
