The loading just spoils everything.

As others have said, get a MVS.
Sadly Yakumo, The likes of Last Resort weren't ported to the Saturn (and the CD Sound track is immense, there's just no other words for it) .
And I disagree very strongly that the CD Music tracks are worse than the Cart based counter parts. It CD music in games like SS were quite haunting , and the intro music alone to KOF 96 just incredible

The loading times never got inthe way too much for me. Think its a great system myself , shame it wasn't supported for longer

And though it's still very slow, try and get a CD-Z instead for the faster loading.

MVS is the only sensible (and very best) way to play NG as it was intended. You can consolize a one slot easily for under ?100 and you have the very best of all worlds. Most carts are under ?20 too.

And they're VERY smart looking, unlike the god awful howler the more common machine is. (although I bought two of them) The front loader's a bit of a looker as well IMO.

The musics in Real Bout Special & Samurai Spirits II are worth the anticipation wait of the load.

I can't deny that the original toploader is a bit of a beast, but it is built like a tank compared to other models, it will only fail under nuclear war circumstances.

That's true. It would probably survive that as well, it's the cockroach of 16-Bit CD systems.............

Lee for VGI always used to say that about the Neo Geo CD , Honest to God .

Still that was when consoles were 'made in Japan' , unlike the Chinese **** we get today . I also think the Japanese Sega Saturn would piss any Nuclear war its so well made

I've got a front loader...the thing is massive! I always had a soft spot for the CD machine, although it is clearly not the best for playing Neo games on. Collectors only me'thinks.

Imo it's worth owning one for Metal Slug (1) alone. Might be the version to get (CD sound, combat school, price) and loading times are very good.

Some other titles are also very enjoyable with very short loading times like NAM-1975, Last Resort, Viewpoint, Windjammers, Top Hunter.

110 differences between the CD version of Metal slug and the home/mvs version!

You'd have to be very anal to find a lot of them, but a couple are obvious.

I got rid of my CDZ a while ago and didn't get much for it, much less than I paid for it a while before and I'd bundled it with much more stuff.

Rally Chase (Thrash Rally) has a reworked control scheme on CD and is a superb, very underrated, game.

Neoturfmasters has a Scottish extra course as well

Neo cd is all I have left of my neo cd stuff, wouldn't say it was for collectors as the pureists would just laugh at that

Still looking for a few titles like ninja commando USA but I've got frog feast to keep me warm

I do love it and generally only Play games like windjammers

I wouldn't bother personally. It's too long in the tooth now.

The PS2 ports and the forthcoming PSN D/L service should cover you fine.

Get a Neo CD emu for that Dunk Dreams disc you've got.
                                Kept you waiting, huh?
