Stick the MVS carts in shock boxes with inserts, and essentially it's the same as an AES cart. And while I totally agree the AES system is a stunning bit of kit, an awesome looking cab trumps it.

I did the homecart thing 3 seperate times and can honestly say MVS is better in every single way apart from aesthetics, and thats catered for by a cab anyway.

Its just the homecart stuff being so sexy, and the machine, that when you have money spare its hard to resist. If I was completely loaded I'd still have one.

I'd like to go the MVS with a cab route, though I'd go mad trying to collect full kits as opposed to the MVS cart.

Meh sod full kits, bare carts for me.

I have two full kits, but other than appreciating getting a nice move strip to have in the cab it's a bit mneh. I was going to go cart only like Kernow, but have to admit that slapping my carts in to shockboxes makes everything look nicer on the shelf and gives me that AES style happiness.

I'd be more tempted if I had your cab to get some MVS art as it fits perfectly in that little movestrip holder thing.

Yeah, they make the CP look even cooler, I'd love to find a MOTW one. That would just stay in there forever.

Can anyone recommend some NTSC SNK treats on't Saturn? Gots one on the way and am well up for some swanky looking 2D fighters or sommat.

According to Wikipedia this is what's available:

Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory
                    King of Boxing
                    The King of Fighters '95
                    The King of Fighters '96
                    The King of Fighters '97
The King of Fighters Best Collection
                    Metal Slug
                    Real Bout Fatal Fury
Real Bout Fatal Fury Best Collection
                    Real Bout Fatal Fury Special
Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood
                    Samurai Shodown IV: Amasuka's Revenge
                    Samurai Shodown RPG
                    Stakes Winner 2
                    Twinkle Star Sprites
                    World Heroes Perfect

Out of that lot I have World Heroes Perfect and Samurai Shodown III and they are both pretty decent. Beyond that I'm not too sure, although I'd imagine that Real Bout should be decent, as the PS1 version was good and I'd expect the Saturn version to be better.

I have all of them except for Shodown RPG, King of Boxing and Stakes Winner.

FF3 - looks arcade perfect in stills, but in motion its ****e. Load times suck too. Avoid.
SamSho IV - Doesn't really compare to the AES cart, but its still good. Far better than PSX. Smooth controls.
SamSho III - Thought less of this one, its a bit messy with all these flickering going on. Can't recommend it.
King of Fighters 95 - Very accurate port (thanks to ROM cart), but its a forgettable game.
                      KOF 96 - Good port
                      KOF 97 - Good port
Real Bout - I don't really like the game, but its a faithful port. Also with the arcades 'mode 7' effects. Far better than PSX.
Real Bout Special - Amazing port, I think its the best SNK game on Saturn.
Twinkle Star Sprites - Better than MVS/AES imo.
Metal Slug - Decent port, slight slowdowns and muffled sound (I think?) but thankfully no PSX like mid-game loading.
World Heroes Perfect - Pretty much arcade perfect, but an average game.

You'll need an 1MB RAM cart for most of these. Some SNK games will go bonkers with the Capcom 4MB (I'm fairly positive on KOF 96 being one).

                        Nice one folks.

I'll have a little Youtube search for some of those. A KOF and a Samurai Shodown game would be ace.

Been playing MOTW DC (courtesy of Press Start To Begin) and absolutely loving it over the past couple of days- don't think I've ever been this animated over a fighter since SFII.

Is a consolised MVS the better option if I want to play newer games? If so, is there a preferred modder to buy from? I'd love an AES but searching for perfect, non-pirated carts with everything intact and from one region seems like a slog (not to mention expensive) when there are so many collectors around.

MVS carts will run perfectly on any MVS mobo consolised or not?
You either need a Jamma cab or supergun & away you go.. Just add carts & credits, *BOOOffffFT, FUUUUUUuuu KEN*

Oh, I know... I'm just curious if there are any MVS modders that are preferred for the quality of their work. I don't have a supergun so the consolised MVS seems to be the way to go until I can convince my wife that a cab will really add to the flat.
