    Restoring an old Jamma Cab

    Hi,

I have been thinking about restoring a cab for years, and today I was offered an old beat up cab for a cheap price:

The monitor is in good condition, as are the speakers, but the Monitor is missing a control PCB.

I don't want to build a MAME cab, I want to rebuild a JAMMA cab. I will be stripping the whole thing, doing a different controller panel, and replacing the marquee.

My question is, can I buy spare parts for all this from the internet? Can you get like a bare bones JAMMA loom, PSU and get instructions for wiring it all up?

Anyone point me in the right direction? I know it's a big job, but we all need hobby projects!

I'll come round when your finished to spill some drinks on the floor and stamp some chewing gum/dog ends into the carpet for the ultimate in authentic atmosphere.

It looks a proper cab though the kind you used to play over here. Put Robocop on it!

While I can't tell you directly which parts you'll need as I'm still an arcade noob, I can give you some good links.

If you haven't already picked up on it in the other arcade happy thread, http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/
      or

are probably the best places to ask questions.

      Buying wise though,
http://www.ultimarc.com/ is a must for parts
      and also try http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/

        Thanks!

Looks like I can basically get everything I need.

Arcade World UK - Suppliers of Sanwa, Seimitsu And Crown parts, arcade machines, QanBa Fight Sticks and various other products, parts and components.

The big question will be the monitor, as it seems this control PCB is missing, I will have to get specialist help from an arcade forum no doubt.

Well step one is collect the beast tomorrow & see what is working or not.

http://www.giz10p.co.uk/ this is where I got My SEGA Virtua Striker giant wooden cab custom modded by Craig iirc? He tore out the entire Model 3 I think gubbins and put in Jamma bits so I could play CPS2 & MVS etc to my hearts content. Was really informative and helpful through the onslaught of emails I sent him. Also the folks at http://forum.arcadeotaku.com are helpful to apart from kernow always blah blah Oh CAROLINA!
