I first played it on the Phillips CDi - this was notable because it allowed you to pause the game yet continue to move your cursor and assign jobs to the Lemmings, lol!

Then I played it on the Atari ST (and wondered why it was so difficult). It was actually a limited edition version from the Home Computer Club which had a couple of exclusive stages in it (the disk label said Lemmings - Book Club or something)

The music is just beeps in the ST version but I actually preferred that to the elaborate CDi (and presumably Amiga) music

Make sure there rechargeable else you might need to sell something else.

The scope really did eat up the battery, the aim for it is a bit off in lemmings 2 but it does work and is quite amusing.

Chalk up another vote for the Amiga version. Did any other version support two players using two mice?

I loved Lemmings 2 on the Amiga. The soundtrack was excellent and I really enjoyed just messing around and not doing any missions (can't remember what that mode was called though).

                It's alright.
Downsides are the terrible front end/menu system and missing themed levels (even the SNES ver has the Menacing, etc stages). Plus some of the worst PS1 FMV around for the intro.

DS version is great because of the stylus control.

Lemming 2 the tribes is the best. much more variety then the other games although you'll still need plenty of patience. I got 119 of the 120 gold medals before my save game corrupted

I agree that the Amiga version is most likely the best. I play the Snes one but it's a bit fiddly with the joypad. The Megadrive one is even more so because of the stiffer D pad. If you have a 6 button pad the experience would be improved.

As for Lemmings 2, I have it for my Snes, but don't actually remember much about it. I think I will have to play it again and see how I get on.

What? Using two mice? (Would do a facepalm if only I knew how!)

Agreed. Needed the SNES Mouse to get the very best out of Lemmings. With the Mouse, I would go as far as to say that the SNES version was easily top-three in any best-ever Lemmings ports list, possibly better.
