Uncharted 2, funnily enough was the last 'long' game I played to completion too. All these games like fallout 3, demon's souls etc, I got the hump with in under an hour. And if a game won't let me skip all the boring cut scenes, well god help it.............
I keep looking at that cab every day hoping it's still there & I suddenly find a stack of cash in the cupboard to buy it lol

That said I was proper tempted with Tart31's Atomiswave a while back as he's only 20 minutes down the road from me in Chelmsford so would have been perfect but couldn't get the pennies together

You know what I'll join that Uncharted 2 club...that was my last big game I finished but strangely enough it was well paced & the ample save points really helped out there & I could get actually away with short blasts on it so got through it quite nicely.
Since then though nothing has been finished.

The last game I played like that was Transformers: WFC & I'm still ploughing through it after buying it on launch.

I honestly cant see me getting into big games anymore, I still buy them in the hope of one day finding the time (I've got Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, God 3, Mario Galaxy 2 all sat on my shelf waiting to get started) & reckon I'll continue to do so in the vain hope that I'll find the time.

Life unfortunately has taken over & I miss the good old days of being able to lose myself in a game.
I would be interested to see how many games people on this forum own or buy, and then can't dedicate the time or effort to playing through.

I thoroughly recommend cutting your collection in half and only playing games which have reviewed well and you're interest in. Are you getting as much out of Transformers as other games that currently sit un-played on your shelf? If you hold onto only the best or most personal games and play one at a time, you'll find you complete the best games and will quickly figure out if one is garbage or not.

For example I own 2 consoles and have around 30 games in my collection, yet I've completed over 20 games this year despite time constraints. Keep it short & simple and you'll enjoy it more than having a collection equalling hundreds but with no time to play any of them!

Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, God of War 3 & Super Mario Galaxy 2 would only take between 6 - 20 hours to complete each. If you only had that game to play, you would complete and it enjoy it far more than jumping between multiple releases.

I understand what your saying & that's what I do...I finish one game & then start on the next.

Long gone are the days of me having multiples on the go, I just forget what I'm supposed to be doing on them if I split myself between them now...all those games I listed are still sealed (Except Galaxy 2 which was bought 2nd hand)
It really is a case of not enough time in the evenings.

I get home from work & start dinner, pick the missus up, eat dinner, she watches the soaps on telly, I go to the gym, get home catch up on some telly I've recorded, go to bed.

That is my life (and it really is as boring as it sounds) so to fit in hours & hours of gaming I just cant do it.
Things like Fifa or a few credits on Espa 2 or Hokuto No Ken fit in nicely around what else life throws at me & heavy story driven stuff just doesn't anymore.

Right now I own 4 actual games. Last year I had nearly 1000. See, you can get better.

(Sorry, 5, but Neil2k has the fifth one on loan!)

95% of the time the reason you can't skip a cutscene is because it's hidding the fact that the game is loading. So you can either have a really long loading screen or a cutscene, I know which I prefer.

That's cool, if you do have a small collection (Much like ikobo!) and still can't find the time then that's part of life.

I don't get home till 7pm most nights but I don't watch TV and don't have kids, so if I've got nothing else on, I'm far more inclined to fire something up or progress through a game I have going.

I would rather have a small collection and slowly go through them, than have a major collection for no good reason and never have the chance to play them all.

I actually have a mammoth collection for absolutely no reason other than hoping to play them all...before I got with the missus 3 years ago I had nothing better to do than play games so bought loads in readiness for epic gaming sessions & just never finished any of them...I have most of the Res collection on the'cube to still play for example.
So I should be ruthless & just clear them out but I find I cant bring myself to do it so there they sit gathering dust for fear that I might actually want them again at some point in my life.

/me puts his hand up as well.

I've had an entire year not able to work but with no motivation to play games, now I'm working and can afford them I don't have the time nor energy. Guess the wife leaving me has given me some more free time...I bought a DSi XL 4 weeks ago but haven't even had to charge it a second time yet. I'm shocked and disappointed at myself (not really). The 3DS release not being until next year has made me feel better though.

Storylines that drag on and on do my head in. I love Super Robot Taisen games but the GC/Wii ones don't let you save anytime. I tend to play the GBA/DS/PSP ones more as a result.
