Golf on The PC Engine! (Hu)

Avid watcher of golf and have played many golf sims along the years.

Anyway, currently collecting for the Core Grafx. Only games I will play, and there are tons of action, platform, shmups and sports.

Anyway..

To my knowledge there are 5 Hu card golf games :-

Ganbare Golf
Power Golf
Naxat Open
Jack Nicklaus Turbo Golf
Winning shot..

as non of them were expensive (I'm talking under ?5) I bought all 5.

In the hope, 1 will click, I think Naxat looks great. If more click, than even better.

I can play retro golf for long periods, I sank around 500+ hours into golf on the gameboy!

Anyone have any experience of any of the mentioned games?

They're all pretty crud, apart from Naxat. Thought strangely, ganbare Gold Boys was strangely addictive.

You want to get yourself a copy of Namcot Open on the Super Famicom, best golf game ever.

In the new year, I'm sorting out a space in the bedroom, where I'll be setting up a whole host of retro consoles.

(When I had an attic room in Coventry...I had double figures of consoles set up and all played, regulary - That is what I'm reverting back to in the New Year.)

I will check out that game on the SFami.

It's not too common. Never seen one in the wild, even back in the day when I used to go to CEX regularly. It does appear on ebay every now and then though, usually from Yamatoku.

It's one of the few SFC games I've kept. Must have had it for at least 16 years now as I remember buying it from KT Konsols back in the early 90's.

Nice. I will look more into getting this in the New year. I got bags of stuff to play through when my core grafx arrives. Only my 5th in 2 years. When will I learn.

Big video game golf fan - I've only got Winning Shot Golf on the PC Engine - not played the others. Best golf gave for me is Turf Masters on the Neo Geo but I also love all the Augusta/Pebble beach games on the SFC - great atmosphere and graphics for the time - a little slow to draw sometimes though...played a lot of the original Everybody's golf on the PSX too.

Naxat open is the best PC-Engine golf game, no contest. I'd just throw the others in the bin, as they're all rubbish.
