Can't remember what the specs were, just thought it may be what he was thinking of. But yeah, it was just a black, cooler, Mega PC, that I think only saw a Japanese release.

No, this was way before the Teradrive. I think the keyboard was grey/black with some blue or light grey keys, probably the function keys.

This was when I was really looking forwards to purchasing my Megadrive so I remember every rumour and annoucement.

                This one shinobi?

Love this one as you never hear of it, PC-Engine disk drive:

                Dreamcast zip drive:

And the awesome Supergrafx Power console controller. Seemingly there are 3 fully functioning protos of these around:

That PC Engine one was a cdrom unit but using caddies like the CDTV.

Yeah, I think that's it ikobo, although I saw different pics in the magazines at the time, and although the keyboard layout was the same it was larger.

Does anyone remember the PC Engine prototypes with the telephone docking? CVG had that and some flat screen docking version also, they looked cool too.

I recall seeing a black proto Playstation/SNES in Zero BitD, not like the other shots here.

Edit: found one... it wasn't this pic but it was the same proto IIRC:

The Atari mirai, rumoured to have been a deal with SNK to make an entry level AES, without any of the originals class.
