HD Box Pro or a VGA cable for Dreamcast - which to go for?

Right I was going to add a thread in the Wanted category, but then noticed another member asking for a VGA cable for gamecube but being adivsed to go for the HD Box Pro instead.

I was originally just looking for a VGA Cable for my Dreamcast, but then wondered whether or not to go for a HD Box Pro hoping that I could also hook up my GC, Xbox & PS2 at some point as I've seen 1 for only about ?10 more than a DC VGA Cable.

Is this a better option than a VGA cable?

Dreamcast can't output component. GameCube can, HD Box Pro needs component.

In terms of value get the VGA cable for the Dreamcast - almost all games support it.

HD box pro is great for what it is but it only accepts component.

The VGA output from the DC looks excellent anyway, one of the cleanest outputs I've seen. I can't imagine wanting to use anything else, even if there are a handful of problem titles.

Still tempted by an official DC VGA box but the eBay prices are too crazy to seriously consider. Do the Blaze boxes have a perceptible loss of quality by comparison?

I use a Blaze one and it's fine. Generally speaking, all VGA boxes are considered to be the same quality-wise.
