Nerdy question about Phantasy Star Online releases JP DC

GameFAQs have 2 Japanese versions of the original DC Phantasy Star Online listed.

HDR-0129 - limited edition
HDR-0142 - standard edition

I have the HDR-0129 version here. It's the double size case version with the Sonic Adventure 2 Trial in the back.

The thing is - that's the only version I've ever seen. Anybody got any info on the HDR-0142 version?

As far as I know the first Phantasy Star Online always came with the Sonic Adventure disc and PSO dogtag. I have never seen a single disc version. There are single disc versions of Virtua Fighter 3 though as well as the double disc version with Project Berkley.

I read that the first print came with a dog tag so maybe that is the limited edition.

Still doesn't explain the other serial code though.

Anybody here got a copy they can check?

Being the PSO fan I am I had a quick look. Gamefaqs don't list the Phantasy Star Online Network Trial Edition which was an early release of the game

My guess would be that is where your product code is from. There is also a limited edition PSO 4x Memory card scroll down the below link to see it

look's like there was going to be a bundle version which was cancelled it must have been assigned a product code before it was cancelled .

Good info, thanks. I actually have the PSO network trial version and the PSO 4X memory card (a dog-tag is still on the shopping list). I didn't check the memory card but the trial has its own unique serial no. I have submitted it to GameFAQs this week.

The Sega website lists both versions. Using a internet translation, I think that HDR-129 was the first print and HDR-142 was the reprint. I assume they were both the same as I've never seen a version without the Sonic 2 trial disc.
