How much should i be paying for a PC engine

PC engine boxed (first model) with 3 games: Dungeon explorer, Dragon spirit and Bloody wolf. Hue cards only.

    Ok go!

Very much depends on the condition of the system. The three games are worth next to nothing.

I believe this gives price guides for consoles: http://www.retrogamer.net/bargain_hunt.php

They say ?50 for a PC Engine.

Not sure when it was last updated, however.

That's a good price for a boxed unit. I'd ask for a pic of the actual unit though, might be completely yellow.

You'll probably want that model RGB modded later on, due to it only having RF onboard.

So it doesn't it even have composite at least?

Nah, the original PCE is RF only unless you have the AV booster or interface unit - or have it modded. Core Grafx and II added composite out.

Would this be a good first pc engine set up? Quite fancied one for a while now.

Looks like it has composite out. What would be a fair price for it?

Despite its condition it'll probably still do ?100-120.

Is that good though, or would I be better off getting an rgb modded console minus the cd rom? I was hoping it's rough condition would keep it cheap.

I wouldn't personally want to pay that for one in that state, but it would seem that's what the going rate is at the moment. PC-Engines in general aren't cheap right now. For not much more, you could probably get a nice RGB'd Duo or Duo-R from an ebay seller who's pumping them out all the time, can't remember his name right now though.

                            Yup.

His YouTube channel has a tut video. He properly replaces the 5 pin din socket with an 8 pin one (no shell drilling here!) and uses an NJM based amplifier. For the cost I think he's probably the best route to go with.

May even trade up my Core Grafx II for one of his Duo-R somewhen.

Keep an eye out here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/doujindance/m.html
