More madness - I know the 2nd gen MS converters go for a bit, but this is ludicrous ...

Not that shocking, really: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-WORLD-...item19e12f2a56
But the blue cart is by no means 'rare' – all the damn US carts are blue!

I think the problem is that it's like a cascade effect, once one or two sellers decide to charge a premium price the rest of them stop auctioning and put up fixed price ads. On eBay uk right now out of the 335,000 listings under Games > videogames and consoles only 67,000 are auctions, thats only 20 % of eBay's ( an auction site ) listings are actual auctions! Ridiculous!
I had a quick look through the active listings of older gens and a lot are less than 15% Auctions. Snes/Mega CD/Master system are around the 10% mark and it drops to 3% for the Atari Jaguar...
Ebay used to be a great place to pick up deals with only the best listings in the best condition with the rarest titles commanding over the top prices. But now it's a pathetic shell of it's former self, every ****ing seller writes *rare* in the product description....

I remember opening a factory sealed copy of this on release! Really should have stuck it in a drawer!
