    Retro CRT (Tate)

So, around a month ago I finally got a gem of a TV for my retro stuff.
Sony Trinitron 4:3 21" and its a beauty.

Playing Double Impact (1st time of owning it) through RGB on it, well, it really is a sight to behold.

Unfortunately, its a bit on the large side, also it can't be tate'd, which I need for arcade stuff.

I'm in no rush to get rid of it, but, I feel down the line, I'm gonna have to sacrafice it.

Please could anyone give me any options of something around the 16-18" size that can also be rotated..
Ideally, at-least with the same picture quality as the Sony Trinitron.

    Thank You.

You might be able to pick up a cheap 14" Sony PVM from Ebay if you're prepared to wait for an auction rather than a buy it now, the picture quality would be even better than the Trinitron.

I've got a 20inch Trinitron and I tate it all the time and had no issues with it.....except that it's a bit on the heavy side and knackers up the table it sits on by keep rotating it. Plenty of 14 inch Toshiba crts on ebay for cheap and I've had nothing but good picture quality from old school Toshibas. I know it's not ideal to tate crt's but its prob more of a shouldn't than a can't in my opinion.

In that size bracket you're after though I'd just keep what you've got because they won't be much smaller than what you are already using.

Is there a way of connect a scart/rgb to it. I see it says it supports that, but the inputs look different!

You need a scart to Bnc cable like this one

Thanks J. I think I'll just keep an eye out for a 14" Trinitron or Toshiba.
At-least I have a set to play on until one comes up. I may even snap up the Preview monitor if it stays cheap as I'm in the West Midlands.

              Thanks for help

Still makes me laugh that guy wants ?30 for that cable. I guess nobody else makes them. Made mine for about ?3.

Rule of thumb when TATEing is to have the display off, or the image will get screwed due to magnetism.

Why don't you make them, sell them for ?20.

Hardly worth it unless you can make them in like 30-40 minutes!
