Hi, I put up a quick video on Youtube of one of the best arcades in Tokyo, the Taito Centre in Akihabara. First time I have ever put a video together but I think it would be fun for people in back home to get a peek of what an arcade looks like in Japan in 2013.

Oh man, I remember hanging out in the Taito Center back in 1999 when I lived in Tokyo. It wasn't too hot back then but if the one I visited in Fukuoka City a few years back has anything to do with it, it should be a great arcade these days. sadly the Taito Center in Fukuoka City is now closed but at least the massive Sega one is still there. 7 floors of arcade goodness.Last edited by Yakumo; 03-06-2013, 23:27.

Couldn't get it to work in the viewer so have just included a link. Thanks for your comments guys, and yeah the Taito arcade is one of the only ones that is getting BETTER with each year, as opposed to the Sega ones which are becoming more like mini casinos. I hope as the market for retro games grow that arcades can get back a bit of that atmosphere that they once had.

I love it how people were lining up constantly to fight head to head on SF2. It's nice to see that the place is still there. It seemed like the only 'real' arcade in the 'famous' Akihabara anyway. A bummer, but thankfully there was at least one. I still am a bit shocked how one is allowed to smoke everywhere. But I guess the venting is really good because it didn't bother that much.Last edited by danholo; 04-06-2013, 11:34.
