This week on Battle of the Ports we are taking a look at an early 3D game from Lucasgames, or Lucasfilm games as they were called back then. This is Battle of the Ports - The Eidolon.

Nice to see you cover a game such as this. I'm led to believe, like Fractalus, that the Atari version was in fact the "lead" version but the C64 version was out at the same time in the US.

That would make sense as it's also the best version.

The Atari had a bit more grunt for that sort of thing compared to the C64, but conversely the C64 did a lot of other stuff far far better. All about the architecture. The NES was a bit pitiful in comparison, but the extra cart chips boosted it a lot, and the architecture made it ideal for tile-based platform and flip screen games. Ergo, SMB, Zelda and Metroid.

Dead or Alive, you're coming with me!
That's right, It's another Battle of the Ports Remastered. This time it's RoboCop. The original video ran at 30fps, 720p with no voice over and only covered 11 versions of the game.
This remastered is in 60fps, 1080p with voiceover and covering 14 versions of the game.

Nice one enjoyed this, particularly your nice and well rounded review of the MessyDos version.

Lol, the DOS versions are so bad. Sometimes you just have to say how it trully is in the simplest of ways.
