    Phantasy Star Online

Just started to go through episode one again, done all of the guild missions for the mines and am about 13 hours in. This game really is special isn't it? I remember getting this day one for the Dreamcast and was my first experience playing an online rpg, but even playing offline the game still holds up and is fun to play. One of sega's best games and it's criminal that the sequel still hasn't been released in the west yet

Yeah, it really is great although a bit of a grind on your own. Are you playing online?

No sadly, just playing through the GameCube version on my own. Just finished episode 1 on normal, will finish off the guild quests then take a break and play something else before moving on to episode 2

        Considered jumping on SCHTserv?

I hooked my GC up and played a couple of games, but was a bit difficult to get a team together. If any of your guys fancy a run through a few levels of Ragol, I'm up for it.

Ah tempting! So many hours spent on that game. I have all the kit needed as well...

Cool game PSO. Loved it back in the day.

I used to play this on Cube split screen with mates. Was pretty fun, although I was about level 80 and my friends were level 20 so it was a bit of a faceroll.

Ive not got the GC & DC both are still back in Scotland. Was level 200 Force on DC and loved it, played for 2 years. I have PSO BB installed on the PC, can we play with GC & DC players? If so give me a shout on here.

Unless they have fixed the dodge anti-hack protection installer they asked users to install I wouldn't use them. They've been losing members left, right and center since it happened. Shame as up till then they had a great private server.

If you can get yourself the PC Blue Burst version as it includes 3 episodes one of which was never released on console.

I'm guessing that installer is not applicable to the GC/DC versions?

Should be fine on console but it's very hard to connect DC's too it these days and I believe there are some crash issues if Gamecube players play with Blue Burst players.

My brother is a die hard PSO fan but most of them only plays Blue Burst these days due to the various upgrades. Still 4 players on the Gamecube was ace.

PSO is my favourite game of all time, I seem to dip back into it for a few weeks at least once a year. I played it on the Gamecube a couple of months back as my pc had no internet connection at the time; couldn't believe how grainy it looked compared to Blue Burst at max settings. It really is a beautiful game in all departments.

I've never had trouble with schthack servers. There always seems to be people online and rarely are they dicks. No voice chat helps, obviously. I do play alone a lot though to be fair.

I find it hard to play PSO now. Mechanics ate horribly dated and quests are pretty uninteresting solo. Didn't have much love for PSO2 either.

Didn't think Blue Burst could play with GC/DC gamers? Not too easy to find out on their site, but seem to remember reading it somewhere.

Although there was a lot to like about PSO, I felt this even when it was contemporary. I'm surprised to hear that anyone has played so much of it solo.

That being said, this thread has disappointed me a little, as I thought for a moment that Blue Burst was still online. I might have downloaded it to play with my lass, because her laptop can't play most MMOs that we would otherwise play together. Its performance characteristics would've been ideal. Can't really be pestered with the hassle of private servers and such.
