Mario Kart Double Dash

In anticipation for Mario Kart 8 I've been going through the previous Mario karts, started with super Mario kart, Mario kart super circuit, Mario kart 64, Mario kart 7 and am currently going through double dash. I was surprised by how different each game actually is and how Nintendo added different elements to each game making them seem new yet familiar. Anyway Double Dash is the one where Nintendo really experimented and it seems to be the least popular one in the series. Going through it again now I don't understand why it gets so much hate, graphically it's still the best game so far and some of the best courses in the series are in this game (DK Mountain my personal favourite). The tag dynamic adds more strategy to the races and power sliding is much easier to do. Although it's not the best game in the series (that for me goes to Mario Kart 7) it's certainly not the worst and I'm not sure why it gets so much hate. Anyone else here feel the same way?

Always enjoyed it and even played the LAN mode with my brother a few times. Still much better than MK64 in my eyes.

I enjoyed it. The only one I haven't enjoyed is Super Mario Kart.

Double dash and Super Mariokart are my two favorites but i havent played either in a lonng time.
