Which Region Version is Best of These SNES games?

I have a Jap SNES although I have a convertor so it can play most US games too.

Which region version of StarFox/Star WIng and Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator is best? What are the differences if any? and do the Japanese versions of these games have English text?

Not sure about Valken, but unless someone has expert knowledge here, I'm pretty sure the American and Japanese versions of Starfox are the same, insofar as you wouldn't pick one over the other - but naturally the American version has English text (I doubt the Japanese version has it).

That being said, you can write all Starfox's text on a matchbox. I mean it's not an RPG.

Japanese Valken by far! Star Fox is the same AFAIK.

ASV if you can read Japanese and want to see the censored scene, otherwise the best version is the fan translation. You'd need a flash cart though- I don't recall ever seeing a repro cart of it available.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I will get the US version of ASV because there may be pictures in the Jap version and more text but I can't read Japanese! I noticed the boss doesnt flash all the time when you hit it in the Jap version, so maybe they made a few gameplay improvements in the later US version too.

I think the US version of Star Fox too for the English text.

Wish I could get that fan translation of ASV, mind you I am never that much of a fan of lots of text in action games, I wish they told the story justthrough playing the game. I'd normally just skip it.
