With all the extravagance and amazing Import retro pick ups i wasn't sure if i should be posting these they where both around a fiver each and in such nice condition i had to get them. Most pal Saturn stuff you find has the cardboard cover scuffed and destroyed so was surprised to find these two in tall plastic box's with cover inserts if only all pal saturn stuff came in these boxes.

If we can’t post cheap stuff on here then I’d be ruined!
The cardboard cover PAL Saturn games are a nightmare, even if you keep them immaculate they can ruin themselves. The lines of glue holding the cardboard on seem to shrink or something over time and leave the cover looking all wobbly. It would happen back in the day with badly-stored ones on market stalls or whatever, but over the years it seems to happen naturally too. I had games I’d bought new and always stored well start to do it (quite randomly with no real pattern to it). It annoyed me so much that I sold most of mine and replaced most of them with Japanese jewel case versions.
Cex is a nightmare when combined with the public. The most annnoying thing is some games you can tell were probably in nice condition and gradually get destroyed in-store by dirty scrubbers and jam-bearded kids.

I think one of the problem with a lot of games in CeX is that it's used as a defacto rental place by a lot of people (especially kids). So stuff can pass through 10 or 20 people's hands, none of them bothering to look after it in any way because they'll trade it back as soon as they're done.
Not that it excuses it (it's not hard to look after a plastic box). But I think it's a contributing factor.

The copy of Zelda that i posted a few pages back came form my local CEX and its lovely for its age, I traded some real random stuff id got in other bundles to get it. they can be great for clearing out lower priced stuff that's not worth the hassle of Ebay-ing, to get higher priced retro stuff. I recently picked up a game-boy bundle locally that i wanted to upgrade the screen on with an ips, When i picked it up i found it also came with a ton of older game-boy and GBA games i wasn't interested in, kids games movie tie ins and loads of the usual shovel-ware.
They seem to be really random on what they will take sometimes though, Rockstars gameboy colour masterpiece Austin Powers: Welcome To My Underground lair yes, Simpsons road rage GBA or any Crash Bandicoot GBA game nope. Multiple times i've had stuff refused for really bizarre reasons so they can be a bit hit and miss on what they take which i find really strange when you see the state of some the games loose on their shelves.Last edited by Lebowski; 04-08-2023, 11:17.
