History in Games:
2012 - Asura's Wrath
Overview:
Taking the form of an episodic anime, this last generation title heralds in a new era of RS threads. Previously I stood solely by the side of running these on running franchise titles but now we're opening things up to retro titles that are remembered despite only having single title releases which has led to a reshuffle of what is lined up for future threads. Asura mixed several genres and functions to provide an action game that escalated to massive proportions by the end of the games play time. Mixing rail shooter sequences with action moments and QTE's the player worked through a total of 50 episodes of action. Taking five years to develop and release the game represented a huge undertaking for Capcom and was a unique offering which has led to it still being one of the last gens most memorable offerings despite not finding the sales success to match.
