Thoughts on this series in comparison to the greats by CAPCOM then MIDWAY and SNK?

Launch title for PS5 or XBOX Series X like Soul Calibur or even a nice retro SWITCH Anthology in time for Xmas?

I personally only thought World heroes 2 was the only decent game in the series

In comparison with Streetfighter, Sam spirits, garou densetsu, art of fighting and even the two fuun games it's a pretty poor series of games

I feel there is potential for an evolution of the series if given to CAPCOM to hone and temper the Soul Calibur elements or obviously NAMCO.

World Heroes 2 is one of few AES games that I own. As much as it lacks finesse next to the best Neo Geo fighters, I really like the bold cartoony graphics and overall fun vibe of the game. The range of crazy characters really appeals to me.

Pretty much the correct answer.

World Heroes jumped the shark like a Captain Kidd projectile after the second game. World Heroes 2 JET and World Heroes Perfect are both craptacular.

If we're all honest though, World Heroes probably wasn't very good to begin with. Just the best of a mediocre bunch of SF clones.

Captain kidd is my favourite character, loved shark knuckle and pirate ship

I like this series - actually prefer it to the other Neo Geo fighters. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, and has funny, memorable characters. It's not a great game, but delivers great fun. My favourite character is Rasputin.
