History in Games:
2002 - Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions
2005 - Wreckless 2 (Double STEAL: The Second Clash)
Overview:
A company typically responsible for porn turns its attentions to making a game about driving on a new console made by a Western company under an untested brand. To say Wreckless was an odd prospect from the outset feels like an understatement however the game swiftly arrived on the console and instantly became noticeable. Not because any of the content its makers were known for was in the game but because visually it was simply stunning. Somehow a graphical showcase for the Xbox had come out of nowhere and whilst its gameplay was clunky and awkward the visuals were a clear mark of distinction. Soon after the game was brought to the more popular platforms in an effort to expand that word of mouth but both versions had to drastically cut down the visual elements to the point that the ports were quite ugly leaving the game with nothing to win fans over. With this failure under their belt a retreat back to Xbox was made and a sequel released. Somehow though the wind was already gone and a Japan only launch was made, a release where people weren't even buying the system, and strangely the game wasn't as good looking as its predecessor.

Though very few experienced Double STEAL, did you play Wreckless and if so on what format?
Did you find enjoyment in the visually more detailed and flashy Xbox version?
