Three way tie for me; NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat II, and Ridge Racer. All excellent games, and also telling that if I had to drop one it'd have to be Ridge Racer given the huge impact the first two had on me. NBA Jam helped spark a lifelong love of basketball, and MKII felt like an all-consuming obsession for a good long time - copying down fatality inputs from magazines onto pocket-sized notes to take down the arcade being a particularly fond memory.

    '93 was a good year!

Ridge Racer all the way … though NHL94 deserves a tick

Power Strike II for the Master System is the clear winner from that list. Compile pushed the system hard and offered the greatest shmup on an 8 bit system (PCE pedantry aside) until GG Aleste 3 came along decades later.

The Punisher (As long as it's the arcade version?) is one of my all time favourite games, still play it very regular. Ridge Racer though was one of the most enormous wow moments in home gaming for me, I simply couldn't believe it was running on a console in my house but it thankfully was. Made the £700 or whatever the import PS bundle cost me from Japan 100% worthwhile.

Mutant League Football is such a good game, it took the John Madden formula of the time and just threw in silliness.

Probably the most embarrassing answer, but I really enjoyed Princess Maker 2. It was finished and ready for an official PC release, but got pulled due to some (exaggerated) controversy and then ended up leaked onto the Internet as abandonware way back when. I was playing it on my Windows 95 PC!

It's a weird little strategy series where you raise a girl by basically setting their diary for the month, along with some optional RPG elements and other stuff. It is hard to explain but it's more about looking at statistics and making tactical decisions than anything else. It isn't really that pervy or weird and has more in common with something like a football manager game than you'd expect. You can approach the game in many different ways as there's tons of different endings (some bad, some good). I believe it got an official release many years later on Steam or GOG or something more recently, so check it out. I still hum the main theme in my head.
