    Question for everyone, a bit specific- but hopefully someone can tell me!

    So I have the eternal problem of VGA output not being accepted for some PAL games.

    I know the Codebreaker disc can bypass/force some games to run in VGA that dont have official support -from what I understand, the games support it, but the internal flag wasnt checked so wont boot traditionally. As I understand it, you can run the codebreaker disc, start the game through that, and it will bypass that check and make some games run through VGA.

    Looking at the master list on emuparadise- I understand a lot of PAL games do work with VGA when patched- and I believe the "patch" is essentially turning the flag for VGA to "on" in the background, which is the same thing the codebreaker is doing by bypassing the check in the first place by running from the disc.

    I know some of them wont work judging by the list, but might solve a few issues for me on some/most of the problematic titles.

    The questions I have;

    - Is what i'm saying correct?

    - I'm looking to buy a copy of Codebreaker from ebay for a couple of quid- does it matter what version etc I get?

    - Do I need to input codes etc at all, or will it just "work" for the purposes i'm quoting?

    - Am I right in saying the Codebreaker disc compatibility basically matches the master list - i.e - anything that can be "patched" will work just the same through code breaker? i.e - the patch for Dino Crisis means the game runs fine, but the FMV's are blacked out, but you press start to skip them and all is okay. Im assuming this "patched" ISO of Dino Crisis is the same as running it through Code Breaker if i'm correct?

    Some of this information is getting hard to find online, and mostly people seem to be talking about Codebreaker for import purposes, rather than forcing VGA on the same region disc/console.

    I have an RGB scart cable, and it doesnt actually look too bad at all, but its more I want to only use it where I have too- like with Skies or Blue Stinger or Code Veronica- but avoid having to swap cables out the back all the time. But for the rest I want to use VGA as much as possible for the forcing of 60hz full screen modes (looking at you Hydro Thunder and Dino Crisis!)

      Only just seen this thread but controller pad extensions are a thing, I got mine off eBay for a fiver or something. I've got them for every machine I own.
