Love some Fight Night action ... though Round 3 was my fave.

FFXII was an interesting one. Didn't like it on release. The new combat system did not gel with me. And I hated the dull setting too (reminds me of the Phantom Menace). But I tried it again when it got a re-release and absolutely loved the combat system. So satisfying.

I could never get into it. I played it longer than I should've, really, because EVERYONE was raving about it.

But there were elements of it that bugged me too much. Like how the faces of all the characters looked terrible, or how enemies levelled up with you - so when you had decent equipment, bandits would attack you wearing and wielding super-expensive equipment, yet talking like they were robbing you to buy food.

I know you could fix these with mods on PC but I don't consider that, as the game was as-is on console.

was waiting for 2006 to kickoff

Dreamfall is a fantastic game and great follow up to the longest journey, shame i never connected with the 3rd title, i should give it another go. So much better than the crap David Cage came up with before and after, the hack.

Oblivion - sunk countless hours in this on PC this time, where i had played morrowind on OG xbox, access to mods kept me playing it for ages, never finished the main quest though.

FFXII - while the story is probably the worst of series and the blandest of parties, i really liked the gameplay (it played like solo FFXI), exploration, the world, and really top end music and graphics.

Dwarf Fortress - while i was terrible at the game... i enjoyed it more via the stories others had, an old dead website called the portal of evil (basically USS Enterprise of the internet, searching out strange new worlds of homemade websites and blogs before social media platforms took over, including a Prime directive of not interacting with the subject for fear of ruining it, like that nobs on something awful did), they would share a save file and post that weeks events, with the bigger happening getting ms-art comics made.
