Critics Club IV: Game of the Year 2006 - The Final

Turns out that I only voted in two of the thirteen rounds for this years line up and even then I know my GOAT wasn't in that mix making 2006 the weakest year for my tastes. However, that doesn't mean that others won't clinch the ultimate winner from its ranks






Which of the above games were truly the best of 2006 and why?

The original version of Outrun 2 from 2003 did win

Voted for C2C in this one. It's actually a solid final line up but still not one that screams top tier

C2C easy for me, one of the last games that made me regularly go to arcades, and rinse the home versions across Xbox, PC and latterly of a sort, PS3.

I had to pick Okami over Outrun 2 C2C (hey I voted for the OG version in the older polls)...I think it's a phenomenal game

I like Okami a lot too but I feel its length and pacing does stop it being something I can universally recommend without caveats. Mushi Futari would've likely been my second pick, but OutRun 2 in any incarnation is just an unstoppable force of gaming joy.

All good games, but for me Okami wins hands down. Respect to Outrun 2006, a wonderful update (just not so much my kinda thing).
