Mamma Mia! Here we go again! Another Final bringing to an end another year on our journal through the history of gaming.
The votes have been tallied to create the final face off games that might be crowned




Game of the Year 2007

Which of the above games are truly the very best and why?

Probably Portal for me but it's close.

As much as it doesn't carry the same weight now because of how saturated the series is, I voted COD4 because at the time it was just *chefs kiss*

BioShock also and Mario Galaxy because - obvious


I hesitated over Uncharted but as much as I liked it it's not in the same class. I liked Portal a lot but it was limited as well in ways the sequel addressed, it didn't wow me the same as the others.

Breaks my heart to leave Death Smiles on a 0, but man, Galaxy is something else.

Loved Galaxy at the time but Nintendo have iterated on it so well with 3D Land, 3D World and Odyssey, I find it hard to go back and be wowed. Much like Mario 64, it was stunning at the time but the evolution of Mario has laid bare some previous games in the series. Also, that Remote Waggle felt so pointless.

Eitherway, what a stunning year for games! 😍
