    CCIV: Game of the Year 2008 - Round 01

    Time to begin a new year, pushing on further and further into the noughties. We just passed our most release intensive year yet which contained a lot of drivel but emerged with some real challengers. Will this next year do the same?

    Audiosurf, not played it in a years but got a play at the time, maybe it's time to look through my steam library and reinstall.

    Other main vote for me is Nuts and Bolts, what a game, and it should have had a follow up by now.

    I did play Age of Conan at the time for a few months, never grabbed me, looked it up and i'm surprised it's still running today.

      Yeah Audiosurf is still awesome.

        Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden made it onto the list, which is slightly astounding for a freeware game that mostly existed as a joke about Japanese RPG tropes that wasn’t to be taken seriously. Still remember the story, you play as ex-basketball star Charles Barkley in a dystopian future where basketball is banned and the world has become a depressing weird mess due to the consequences of you performing a Chaos Dunk, killing a ton of people in the process. One of the bosses is Bill Cosby as Ghost Dad.

        It was good! Shame the over ambitious sequel never got anywhere.

          I seem to recall Army of Two being way more enjoyable than it ought to have been.
