      Hmm... that rings a bell.

But its also reminded me of Johnny 5!! or was it Johnny Number 5?

Great film. Was there a sequel to it too? Wow, my memory is really fuzzy. I do remember though crying my eyes out when Johnny 5 (who is a robot) is severally beaten by guys with baseball bats near the end. (I seem to get really emotional when it comes to the death of a non-human characters? I mean, I even got upset when the Football died in Outcast! *sighs*)

Oh, the Rockys are very dear to me (aside the 5th one... though, i kinda just pretend that never happened. Rocky 5? what's that?) Also the Rambos. Need to get that boxset...

          Short Circuit?

          "Reassemble Stephanie!!!"

Short Circuit 2 was terrible and the Indian brer was a white guy blacked up! At least thats what I was told at school...There was a terrible moment in that film when the robot is giving him things to say on a date via a electronic billboard - however a Tampax ad comes on...what were the writers thinking O_o

            Short Circuit! That's it!

hehe. i cant actually remember it at all, apart from the Johnny 5 being smashed to pieces and then returning made entirely from gold. ^_^

When the Wind Blows - Based on the Raymond Briggs book of the same name, this is a powerful anti-war movie that shows how the lives of an old couple are turned upside down when Britain finds itself on the business end of an atom bomb. Not really a 'kiddies' film I know, but it is a cartoon (quite ground-breaking as well - they use traditional cel animation overlayed on a 3D minature house). I watched it as a youngster (mainly because I thought it would be like The Snowman - no such luck) and it had a really powerful effect on me. Brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it. People harp on about how powerful Grave of the Fireflies is, well this is the British version. Plus the David Bowie title track is beyond awesome.

hehe. Ah I remember that well. And his Super Man t-shirt!! I think that is one I would rather not watch again though if truth be told. I loved it so much as a child, though feel a lot of that enjoyment wouldn?t be present if I watched it today. Hmmm? ah bugger? now I?m going to have to re-watch it to see what I think.
Adam, you HAVE to watch that film on a Saturday afternoon when the light's fading and it's pissing it down with rain outside. The early scene when they find the treasure map in his attic is just incredible then.

Oh come on! If that bitch came to your yard and started tearing **** up whilst repeating everything you said to it back to you in a protracted, nasally robotic whine, wouldn't you want to dismantle it?

The Black Cauldron sticks out in my memories, although I can't remember anything about the actual film, just the little model guys you got in packets of cornflakes at the time.

Another one I know we watched a lot but I can't remember anything about, was American Ninja... I do remember the baby getting chucked in a pool at the start but that's all. Now I'm not even sure if this film ever existed.

Teenwolf, amazing back then - awful now.

Weird Science for me, that (along with nearly every film in this thread) I have seen enough times to imprint every word on my brain.

While I was thinking of that I was also reminded of the film of Misfits of Science which I didn't realise was an american TV series too.

Ooh, and I forgot Lost Boys too (which may well be mentioned, but deserves another ).
