"Alien" Series Title & Plans, 'Romulus' Bucket - Dark Horizons
Romulus is to get an elaborate popcorn bucket in the US

Why on earth are these novelty popcorn buckets such a thing these days? Just more plastic tat heading to landfill.

They've been becoming increasingly elaborate in the US for a few years now but the Dune one seems to have really made them a 'thing' over there.

Desperately trying to avoid that Romulus trailer, but it's going to be everywhere soon.

Aliens was released 34 years ago, yesterday. GOAT.

The first reviews of Romulus seem pretty good, although I'm put off by a few mentions of it leaning hard on nostalgia. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I've managed to avoid the trailer, including the one time I walked into the cinema and it was showing and turned around and walked back out for a couple minutes!

Just muted "Romulus" on Threads as people start contorting themselves to give away spoilers.

It's good you did this. I had just seen the first trailer but, when I went to see D&W, they showed a new trailer that pretty much shows the entire movie.

My friend and I were bemoaning this the other day. The art of the trailer just teasing what a film is about is long gone.
That new "Trap" would have been brilliant if didn't reveal in the trailer that

the friendly protagonist dad is the serial killer they're trying to trap.

And there's a new Marky Mark Wahlberg film, Flight Risk, about a US Marshal transporting a government witness by plane to NY.
It'd be boring if it was people reading an in-flight magazine for 2 hours, but most of the plot twists are shown and they even show footage of the plane trying to land, so it's pretty clear it'll land okay.

Fave recent trailer was "Hereditary", which made it look like a poor mother was trying to cope with her Omenesque daughter being really creepy.
This is NOT how the film played out!

You just know that Romulus chatter will be "Well, seeing that (lead character) survives in her escape pod, with all the other crew dead, apart from the chef, who is actually a robot, then I wonder if there'll be a sequel, especially as we see them flying towards Earth with an egg attaached." or something.

Threads is the worst for that right now. People seem to be in a race to spoil everything. I'm guessing for engagement but I hate it.

Kudos for getting "leaning hard on" into a post.

The trailer was like watching lots of the other films but with a young cast.

Alvarez On "Alien: Romulus" Sequel, Pushback - Dark Horizons
Alvarez says he's keen on making the next film and imagines it would be a direct sequel to Romulus but would wait at least two years to start it to ensure audience interest is maintained
