Mark has always been a pretty sad person, but he now comes across as really angry and unlikable. The writers have definitely shifted his character away from geeky and quite nice, to boring, crazy and hostile.

Also, David Mitchell looks like he's gone mad too. His eyes have a constant look of pain in them - and he often looks like he's going to start foaming at the mouth. Either he's putting it on for the character, or he really is looking crazy-eyed these days.

It feels like the characters have run out of steam - and all that's left is for them to descend into madness. I haven't laughed much this series, as it all seems too familiar and also overly grim. I hope the next series goes for a more madcap, exciting approach to the stories.

I think Leon's right in a sense, Mark has become a bit less pathetic. Although the transition didn't seem jarring to me.

Up to Series 3 Ep 4 now and loving it.
