They announced Hard Boiled as region free a while back as it was a very popular question on their forums!

They said it's just running from a region free PS3 Blu-ray so couldn't be locked without locking the game and they weren't prepared to do that.

It's not a problem for me as the PS3 is my Blu-ray player but it leaves people out in the cold who use standalone players.

I think that they are calling DH4 uncut is a touch misleading really as it was never actually cut, they just produced 2 very slightly different versions. One for the cinema and a slightly more family friendly version for the home.

They actually made them both so everything that is in them is down to the people who made them rather than and censors. It's unlikely that there will be much of a difference or even that one is better than the other but I wanted to get this one and then get the UK version later if needed.

Considering avi files are what i watch the most of, the 'upgraded' picture of HD can stay in its fancy slim case for an extra tenner.
i agree with this statement as well

i wont replace all my old stuff as its not that significant, but anything new that gets released i will buy it on HD before i consider it on DVD

but i havent seen anything in 1080p yet - so maybe i'm missing out

Apparently the Aussie Blu-ray disc is actually the cinema version, same as everywhere else. Ezydvd just had it listed as 'uncut' on their website by mistake. Would be interesting to know for sure when you get it though!

But the cinema vesion isn't on other regions Blu-ray discs. They get the home version.

Only on the Australian region B disc get's the cinema version in HD so far.

It was definately misleading of them to list it as uncut though as neither version is cut.

I thought the cinema and home Blu-ray versions were the same cut? The UK Blu-ray is apparently the same as the UK cinema version at any rate. Are you saying the Aussie cinema version the one with extra swearing and blood etc, and therefore their Blu-ray edition will be the same?

Sorry for taking this OT btw!

Last one before we get back onto the proper subject here...

The DVD is the original cut apparently but fox claimed that they didn't have time to remaster the cinema cut in HD also which may account for the Australian Blu-ray being a month later.

Nobody actually knows 100% what is happening though lol. If the version I import is exactly the same then at worst I've saved myself about £10 when buying it!

It's now easier and faster for me to take a photo, crop it, upload it to Flickr, and then hotlink it, than it is write out a list I'm now up to 60 Bluray and 20 HD-DVD (one or two not pictured here as they're out on loan)

Testing out my camera phone...it sucks. So I won't be using it again. You can see how they're laid out though, and my Bonsai trees

                                Nice...

I keep meaning to pick up the Ocean's and MI sets as they are both fairly cheap really.

I've only seen the first films of both sets so I'm still not quite convinced that I should.

                                Why no Die hard 3?
