I noticed that Aliens is getting its own Blu-ray release next year...not sure whether to wait on that or get the Quadrilogy as it's only ?14 on Amazon at the moment.

Even if you never watch Ressurection ?14 for Alien, Aliens & 3 is an utter bargain.
I bought it at full retail when it was released & don't regret it for one instant the quality is superb.

I prefer Resurrection over Alien 3...But both are a bit crappy after the other 2 and I never watched them in my DVD quad.
Dunno really, with the stand alone release it would be interesting to see what extras they throw in there and whether they make the quality of video/audio any better (even though I hear the Quad version is very good).

I really don't know what else they could pack into the Blu-Ray set. There's almost too much stuff!
I watched Alien a week or so back and I had a choice of two versions, two commentary tracks, a facts list and options to make notes on key scenes so you can watch more extras on the supplemental disc! Phew!
I was a bit overwhelmed!

A couple of years back one of our local cinemas did an Alien trilogy lock in, it started at 10pm the Saturday night and they played the first three Alien films (with the bit crappy theatrical cut of Aliens). They had Alien themed cocktails and it didn't finish until 8am. The thing was that we only heard about it a couple of hours beforehand so literally grabbed just 30 minutes sleep then had to head out. I absolutely love Alien 3 but that grimness after being awake for 24 hours was well harsh, I think we slept the rest of the day away.

I'm really into my Asian Horror and Anime. I just watched Shutter... and apart from being terrifying, the story, directing and cinematography was great. I also saw Take Shelter at the cinema the other day and that movie BLEW MY MIND. Everything about that film was just incredible and it's right up there on my top 5. Which is quite a thing to say as apart from being a massive gamer geek I'm a MASSIVE film nerd!

The Tourist - actually better than the scorn heaped upon it, I thought.
I guessed pretty early on the identity of the mysterious AP
however that didn't detract too much from my enjoyment.
Jolie looks absolutely stunning throughout, not much acting going on though, ditto Mr Depp. Dalton, Bettany both utterly wasted, Bettany in particular looks like he just turned up for the cheque.
overall slightly above average, had Jolie got the
baps out
you could have added a point or two.
