Unless I'm missing something Die Hard doesn't seem to have been mentioned. Greatest action film ever

I was going to recommend Shoot em up and Wanted (gotta love curling bullets)

I'd 2nd Die Hard as the daddy of all action flicks.

I already mentioned Die Hard in my first post but as that falls under the obvious i tried to list ones that were a bit more under the radar. But its difficult. Die Hard 1&2 are the kings of the action genre tho.

Flash Gordon was a pretty good action film as well. Timothy Dalton and Brain Blessed, lol. I enjoyed it, camp as it was

Good list of current films here. However, this one could be the daddy of them all when it comes out:

            Check out the cast list!

That's a rubbish film, but it scores + 10 because it has Michael Chiklis crying because Kurt doesn't like a pretty scarf he makes him, and Sean Pertwee getting blown to bits. Again. Plus KR looking so pumped he resembles a pile of swollen sausages stuffed inside a big bag of swollen sausages.

I recommend Tango & Cash. That film has everything, including KR dressed as a lady. Never have I been so tempted.
I bought it on Laserdisc cause I thought it sounded awesome and it was not out in the cinema here and was like ?45 ! bargin !!11!!

Fled is a good fun stupid action movie

                  I'd recommend buying this

then every film from golden age to dtv, then work through em with the book to hand

you could probably bring in the lot for under a hundred and its clearly something you'd never regret

                    Good grief.

Wiki says Sly tried to get Van Damme and Seagal as well but they couldn’t leave their egos at the door - prats.

Action Jackson definitely needs more exposure to the masses, it totally defines what an 80s action film should be. It was a shame that it didn't take off, Carl Weathers was a great action star.

I'll have to second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth The Last Boy Scout. Still an awesome, vastly underrated film, one of Bruce Willis's very best (not that that's saying much, but...) God knows why it failed, maybe it was too 'culty' in feel????? Anyway - and I don't say this lightly - it is better than Commando.

I remember an old Rutger Hauer flick, Wedlock, being a right laugh.

Oh, yeah, I always add Shogun Assassin to these lists. Someone else please download it and tell the others how great it is.

Finally watched Red Scorpion, wasn't dissapointed by what it had to offer in terms of explosions, stupidity and bad editing. Quite enjoyable stuff.

I've been wanting to watch Action Jackson for years as Vanity was deffo marriage material in those days, seems like the dvd releases are a bit ropey thus far?

the first 2 transporter films are epic. third one wasnt bad either on second watch through. actually pretty much anything with jason statham is fantastic

i also dont feel quite as open to attack here as i would anywhere else in reccomending this. i think its great in a "so bad its good" kind of way.

if youre unsure, check the lead actor, i expect that should sell the movie to a few

Another Action Jackson fan here, the film is great

Shogun Assassin is also pretty decent and the 3 storms from Big trouble in little China make their first appearance, the movie is the best out of all the SA movies including the TV show, sure its called Baby Cart at river Styx in Japan

there are loads of 80s/90s cheap budget quality titles:
                              Best of the Best
No retreat no surrender 2 and 3
                              king of the kickboxers
                              Red scorpion
                              Red dawn

                                Weapons? You're lookin' at 'em!

If you watch Action Jackson these days, you might be disappointed. Not a lot happens, especially in the way of actual action. The end bit's great though. Hot! Hotter! Hottest!
