    Mesrine

Caught the double bill of this last night and I highly recommend it

Its the (supposedly true) story of a french gangster named Jacques Mesrine played by a brilliant Vincent Cassel.

its great fun, non stop with maybe one too many bank robberies over the two films but really, what kind of complaint is that

oh and Gerard Depardieu as a fat gangster boss

mesrine:killer instinct and mesrine: public enemy number one

Thanks for posting about this - it looks like a good film. The fact that Gerard Depardieu is in it has peaked my interest.

I saw both of these yesterday and enjoyed the first part much more than the second. Got a bit lost with the politics towards the end tbh, Vincent Cassel was amazing and Mesrine had very good taste in women so overall an enjoyable watch.

so much mad stuff happens in this, I had trouble believing it was based on real events.

        Did he really

walk out of his own trail by kidnapping the judge in full view of the court

        ?? And

        mount a two-man assault on a high-security prison??

It's one mental life story, told brilliantly in these two films.
