Saw the 2D version - laughed at the tacked-in CG shots that were meant to Wow the 3D audience.

2 out of 5 for me. I laughed at the owl prop, and er.... well, was pretty boring and lacked any drama.

Saw this afternoon and it was okay, a standard action yarn and I liked Draco (played by Mads Mikkelson) slighty overshadowing Sam Worthington but admittedly he can mostly act his way out of a barrel and totally overshadowed Christian Bale in Terminator:Salvation (thankfully). Since Batman Begins Christian Bale just plays every character the same now, what a bore.

I want to know though, why is every single film now being released in 3D? Just stop it Hollywood! I don't want to have to strain my eyes and ****ing have to readjust my glasses every 10 seconds because they aren't wide enough for my head. And, not every film is improved by making it 3D.

Even so, hopefully Iron Man 2 will remain 2D and will be great when it comes out at the end of this month. Good times!

I unfortunately watched this yesterday, awful film. I got so bored after the first 45 minutes that I fell asleep and woke up during the
        fight.

Oh and the "3D" was pure rubbish.

I remember one of the characters in the party started to be comedy relief about halfway through the film out of nowhere for some reason. It was quite ham-fisted and I still stand by Mads Mikkelsen (Draco) being decent and Sam Worthington to some extent but apart from the usual thesps popping up here and there I do wonder why it was remade after all when the original was pretty decent.

Still, Iron Man 2 on the same fecking day SSFIV's released. What's going on?

Watched it last night...What a god aweful film.
Way too much babel and talk and not enough action. The FX are average and even poor in parts and the 3D is a shinning example of how 3D is not the future of cinema. Even Sam Worthington is flappy and weak.
The director clearly got bored close to the end because the characters just appear at the river styx after showing a few quick mountain shots to "demonstrate travel".
                As a whole 4/10.

This all makes me very sad. I loved the original and was hoping this would at least be a fun film to watch.

Maybe I'll hunt the original down on BR and make my children watch it, knowing full well that they'll think it's crap.

All the women I know who have seen it, have gushed about it.

Must be something about Worthington in a skirt that I'm just not getting.

The friend I went to see it with said kids will probably enjoy it if they see it but it has no soul, no passion seems to have been put into the production meaning it might as well have been on TV on a Saturday afternoon.

I still stand by Mads Mikkelsen's character being decent though (he worked with what he was given after all). To say this guy played Le Chiffre in Casino Royale as welll, he's quite a chameleon.

I havent seen either version yet, but after the comments ive read here, I have got and picked up the Blu Ray of the original. Gonna watch it over the extended weekend....... Saw the trailer of the original on Youtube, and it doesn't half take me back to my childhood watching 'Jason and the Argonaughts' over Easter.

Might catch the remake when it hits Sky in 12 months or so time then........

My Mum called on Saturday and asked me if I wanted to see this with her and my Dad that night. Was a little apprehensive after the comments I've read, but I have to say I really quite enjoyed it.

Definitely some weak story elements, but a watchable action flick nonetheless.
