Some US retailers are now listing the Citizen Kane: 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition blu-ray set. No real details about what it contains yet but they shouldn't be too fra away.

As you can see, this set contains a DVD copy of The Magnificent Ambersons which is a fantastic film but I'm a little puzzled them sticking it in the box.

We don't usually get the ultimate editions over here so we'll probably just get Citizen Kane over here which is fine with me.

I wish that publishers would stop the whole "Double Play" rubbish!! I've just bought Tangled and at no time do I envision that I will use the DVD version of the film. Digital Copy is fine but a DVD is stupid. Why not release a cheaper Blu-ray alternative for those who only want the HD version?

        Oooooh Citizen Kane. Want!

Anyone know whats the next ghibli releases? Recently picked up Yamadas and Laputa and unfortunatly, they have numbered them the same way as the dvds. Yamadas is number 4.

Tangled was amazing!! Naturally for a modern CG film it looks stunning but it was a thoroughly entertaining film also. Maximus the horse being a particular highlight!!

Noticed The Superman boxset in HMV this week when i picked up Evangelion 2.22. Any impressions? Quite tempted by it myself.

I was looking forward to it, but apparently it's pretty poor. Still uses the same rubbish transfer for superman returns and the old ones for Superman 1 and 2.

The Donner Cut is interesting though inferior to the theatrical one, the main bonus of the Blu-Ray is the added Returns opening

For an animated film from 1987, Akira looks amazing. Especially when you consider that the Japanese animation industry never used to value their cels. It's scrubbed up nice.

                    The soundtrack is immense!!

Have they replaced the dubtitles with something better? Always annoys me on my DVD copy that they have subs coming up when noone is talking in the Japanese audio.

I'm watching the Akira blu tonight and I've got the new LOTR set ready for a weekend marathon viewing.

I've just picked up The Incredibles on Blu-ray in Asda of all places. When did this get released? I didn't even see it in HMV an hour before hand. I'm so pleased to see my favourite Pixar film finally released in HD.

Just finished watching Limitless which I found thoroughly entertaining!! A really good film. Bradley Cooper continues to be as watchable as ever.

The Blu-ray really helps to highlight the difference between Bradly Cooper's character when he is on ZNT and when he isn't. The colours and image "pop" whereas when he is "normal" it is very drab and depressing.
