    Funny that, eh.

Oh well, still, can't grumble most of the films that interest me are BD bound.

Maybe in another year or so, sales figures for both will still be so dire that they're forced to shake hands and roll them into one format.

Sony have done something rather smart and have announced that the first 500,000 to register their PS3 on the Playstation’s online network service in Europe will get Casino Royale on Blu Ray for free.

Nice incentive since the European Blu Ray release of the film comes after the European DVD release, so rather than having to potentially buy a Blu Ray version of a DVD some might have bought only a week or two prior they can have for free in HD if fortunate enough.

Incidentally a Sony rep at AVS confirmed that even the US disc will be marked Region A, B, C so if anyone lumbered with a UK Blu Ray player wants the two seconds or so snipped from the UK version of the film they can import a US copy. I actually wondered that given the fact the UK home video release would be a 12, and not 12a, that they might not need to be cut at all and Sony could just dish out the same master worldwide. That might be the case.

Is Kingdom of Heaven available on Blu-ray the Directors cut or theatrical? It doesnt say on any of the packaging (US or PAL).

Also, does anyone know if the PAL version is region free?

          cheers

My brother has an American version of KoH and it says it's the Director's Cut.

As it's a Fox film, I think that the European version will be region locked.

Just saw this and thought I would give some of my (crap) input, lol. Only got 2 Blu-Ray movies at the moment, Reservoir Dogs and Open Season, but will deffo be adding to them in the near future.

Open Season is a ok animated film but is worth a watch because it does look absolutely stunning in high definition, flawless video quality really.....Reservoir Dogs (classic film!) is also an exceptional transfer with loads of little details quite noticable if compared to the standard DVD version. Very happy with these Blu-Ray purchases, got Talladega Nights on the way too, hopefully that doesn't disappoint too!

Reservoir Dogs is out? I've got it in every other format, might as well add Blu-ray to the mix!

I've got Talladega Nights, watched it Saturday night. It looks awesome, but then it's the first HD film I've watched so I don't have any comparison material. Probably going to go for Crank as my first purchase, I hear it's supposed to be very awesome in both looks and content.

                      The Bale effect.

Is Batman Begins due for a BD release?

                        Crank rules.

Tears Of The Sun is a good demo disc too.

Yes, once Blu-Ray gets its Java support sorted out; it can't produce the interactive content that HD-DVD can at the moment (which Batman begins has). As soon as this is sorted, I'm sure Warner will release BB - I'd imagine they don't want to release an 'inferior' disc at the moment.

Thought about HD-DVD, but aside from Batman, ain't much I'm desperately after at the moment. Oh, maybe Clerks 2 as well.
